- The Twelfth Presidency of PATS: Constante N. Ferme assumed the presidency.
- Integrating Vascular Care: Recognizing that chest specialists were increasingly called upon to treat abdominal aortic aneurysms and acute limb ischemia (blood clots in the limbs), Dr. Ferme’s 1970 mandate officially expanded the PATS academic symposia to include dedicated sessions on peripheral vascular reconstruction.
